Press Sample
Hello there! Sorry for my unexpected break! I only plan to post 3x a week now, but wanted to do a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule but life got away from me. It's the end of the summer and school starts up soon, so I'm just enjoying myself. Meanwhile, I have a new transitional collection from Morgan Taylor. This is sort of an in-between summer and fall collection! And actually, the fall 2019 collection landed at my door today, so let's get to this collection!

First, I just wanted to share the Press Sample box, because it's so fun! That optical illusion is so funky and who doesn't love a holo box?!

Now the Platinum collections from Morgan Taylor are usually holos and now what they are calling, duochromes. Really, these are more multichromes, but whatever you call it, the colors shift!
Can You See My Aura?: 3 coats plus top coat. This was the color I looked forward to the most, but I knew it would be tricky. I've never seen a white duochrome and in order for the shimmer to be present, the base had to be sheer. I do have a three coat rule, so I didn't do a fourth. It was a little uneven, but I would layer this over white next time. The copper shimmer is so pretty.

Don't Jump to Illusions: 3 coats. There is still a bit of VNL but again, I have a three coat rule. This one has the most rainbow of all the colors. It's a silver-based duochrome so it really shifts all over the place. With each move, you'll see a new color!

Morph with Me: 2 coats plus top coat. This is one of the more opaque colors of the collection. This is a bronze/gold duochrome that shifts to green. It's probably one of the more common duochrome color but I always love it. My top coat bubbled horribly, so ignore that! I switched top coats after this.

Oh So Shifty: 2 coats. This is the green duochrome of the bunch and it shifts to teal and gold. You'll want to do less brushstrokes. This one is super opaque so it can streak a bit. It's a great leafy color but the shifts make it summery.

Seeing Double: 3 coats. But this can easily be two coats for someone with shorter nails. This is a purple duochrome that's super glowy. It has a shift to fuchsia and even a bit of gold. This is for the purple lovers! It's a gorgeous shade of purple and I can see it working for summer and fall!

Vanished Before My Eyes: 3 coats but can be easily two for shorter nails. This is my absolute favorite of the collection. This is an amber duochrome and I'm in love. The base is a gorgeous cinnamon-pink color that shifts to orange, copper, and gold. I love the shifts. At extreme angles, you can see a bit of olive green. Don't skip on this color. It's so autumn!
