Hideo Kojima: I'm Not a Fortune Teller!

Maybe for those of you who follow the development of the game industry, you must be familiar with the name Hideo Kojima. The former vice president of Konami is undeniable as one of the world’s famous game directors. After officially leaving Konami a few years ago, Kojima is known to have built his own company, Kojima Productions.

Hideo Kojima’s first project after leaving Konami a few years ago was Death Stranding. The game that he first developed after leaving Konami has now been officially released on the PlayStation 4. The success of this game is undeniable. The unusual concept offered by Kojima made fans even more curious.

Hideo Kojima can predict the future?

Many gamers are curious about the concept Hideo Kojima has to offer. Where Death Stranding is known to have visions of 2 worlds or a split world. Of course this sounds impossible, where humanity has decided to live underground, afraid of interacting with other people, and relying on couriers like Sam Bridges to meet their various needs.

However, after going through 2020 and the emergence of COVID-19, it might be said that this is not impossible. What Kojima offers in Death Stranding is not strange. He has also done things like predicting the future himself through Metal Gears Solid 2. Where the theme of hoax wars and internet misinformation is evident today.

Hideo Kojika: I’m not a fortune teller!

This makes many gamers think that Hideo Kojima can predict the future. Unexpectedly, this is also what Geoff asked in his latest interview with Hideo Kojima, especially about the relationship between the situation in Death Stranding and the current COVID-19. Kojima immediately answered the question by asserting that he was not a fortune teller.

Death Stranding, he said, was not a prediction at all about the current state of the world. If he was a fortune teller and had this kind of predictive ability, he confirmed that he would use it to formulate games that were more salable in the market. Death Stranding, he said, reflects more on the divisions in the social and political sphere that have occurred in the United States and the European Union and is designed to represent these conditions.

You can now play Death Stranding on PlayStation 4. The PC version of Death Stranding itself will soon be released via Steam and also the Epic Games Store. What do you think about this? Give your feedback below.
