Reportedly, Blizzard is developing a mobile version of the Warcraft game

Blizzard has made no secret that the Warcraft game development company sees potential in the mobile games business. A newly discovered job opening from franchises company Blizzard may be needed to create the next mobile game.

As NeoGAF user Nirolak found, a job opening for an FX artist in an unannounced project has been published on the Blizzard site. This proves that it is needed for the project for the device mobile, but the description is less general. But, there is something interesting interesting in job requirementsit contained: a “desire to create an image identical to the Warcraft IP.”

This evidence does not guarantee that a Warcraft mobile game is in development, however it is the best possible indication that Blizzard is developing a mobile game.

As noted above, it’s not surprising to see Blizzard in the mobile gaming industry outside of Hearthstone. CEO Mike Morhaime said last year that the company saw a “big opportunity” on mobile, which meant Hearthstone wasn’t the only Blizzard game on the mobile platform.

“I think we always see everything. We play a ton of games here, and we’re always brainstorming new ideas,” he said. “I think people still don’t really know what a killer app for mobile is, which I think there’s a huge opportunity there. We must have so many people with powerful gaming devices in their wallets that they walk around with them almost every day. I feel like there’s still a lot to be explored. ”

Mobile games, whatever their form, probably not so many Warcraft fans will be interested. While franchise through Hearthstone and World of Warcraft, it’s now been 15 years since the last Warcraft RTS was released, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Warcraft IV and StarCraft III have not yet been released by Blizzard, although no plans for new entries in the RTS series have been announced.
