For those of you who follow the development of the game industry, you will know that EA is not the exclusive owner of the Star Wars franchise. This was confirmed directly by Lucasfilm Games as the new host for future Star Wars games.
Even so, EA is still a part of Star Wars itself. Which they have announced that will continue to develop future Star Wars projects in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Most likely the Star Wars they developed was Jedi Fallen Order 2.
Knights of The old Republic Remake
The great success they achieved through this series, it is not surprising that they will also continue the series. Although for now EA is no longer the exclusive owner for the Star Wars franchise. On the other hand, it has been confirmed that Ubisoft is also developing the latest Star Wars.
Apart from that, it was also recently reported that Lucasfilm Games is preparing the latest Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic. But it is not yet known which studio will take this project.
In addition to preparing the latest entries, they will also re-release the previous series. Fans of Knights of The Old Republic have certainly been waiting a long time for a remake of this one game. The good news is that KOTOR Remake has most likely been in development for quite some time. This indicates that this game will be ready for release in the near future.
Has It Been Developed Over The Years?
Recently, Reddit users have come across evidence confirming that the two legacy KOTOR series have been in development for years. In 2019, many members of the KOTOR – BioWare development team left and more than 20 BioWare employees joined Aspyr.
Aspyr itself is known to have the ability to port games. There are several projects they have worked on such as Civilization 6, Layers of Fear, and The Observer. This studio was recently purchased by Embracer Group and merged under Saber Interactive.
Stronger evidence itself comes from a job listing found on LinkedIn by a Reddit user. Many positions in 2019 were filled by Art Director, Lead Narrative Designer, Cinematics Lead, Environmental Artist, Animation lead, and World Designer.
This job list has now been deleted, which indicates that KOTOR is indeed being developed at this time. Even more so when I learned that last year Aspyr had said that they were working on a project based on an existing IP.
Which IP is likely to be Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake. We need to remind you that there has been no confirmation from Aspyr itself regarding this rumor. What is your opinion about this? Give your feedback.
