UPDATE: THE FIRST MARKET HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL RETURN AUGUST 12TH. The Uptown Night Market was setting up today on 12th Avenue just north of West 133rd Street and we were able to take a few photos before the serious thunderstorm started. A couple of dozen vendors line the boulevard in front of the shuttered Covo space and the outdoor setup is similar to that of Harlem Pride a couple years back. Festivities were suppose to start from 4:00PM and run through 10:00PM at night but it is unclear now if everything moved forward. This was the first Night Market for West Harlem and there are plans for one every second Thursday of the month up until the fall season.
