Yesterday, a leak revealed that Horizon Forbidden West is set for release this year. The leak came through an advertisement owned by PlayStation on Instagram.
Furthermore, this leak further strengthens the rumors that PlayStation is still planning to release a sequel to Horizin Zero Dawn.
Horizon Forbidden West Released This Year
Based on a report from Video Game Chronicle, they released an image that came from the PlayStation. In the image, it is revealed that Horizon Zero Dawn is scheduled to arrive later this year. In addition, there are two other games that are also featured by PlayStation.
For your information, Jim Ryan who spoke with GQ said that they were forced to postpone the release of Gran Turismo 7. The reason was that the Covid-19 pandemic had hampered the development of the game a little. In the interview, Ryan said that they are still planning to release Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Forbidden West this year.
Even so, Ryan reportedly did not hesitate to delay the release of these games if conditions forced him.
Lately, several major game titles have had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For example, Bungie postponed Destiny’s expansion to next year. Then there’s Lord of the Rings Gollum and the also delayed Hogwarts Legacy. Of course, it will be interesting to see how the Horizon Forbidden West will turn out this year.
Postponed to 2022?
This rumor itself comes from an industry insider who has previously leaked information regarding Horizon Zero Dawn to PC. He had previously leaked information regarding the PC port before it was actually announced.
Leaker named Anton Logvinov is now back and confirmed that most likely the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn will be postponed to 2022 later. Apart from that, until now there has been no information or confirmation from Sony itself regarding these rumors.
But recently Jim Ryan as the boss of Sony himself has confirmed that the game will still be released in 2021 as well.
