It's been 20 years since the Digimon Tamers crew went digital for the first time, premiering in Japan in April 2001 (and around the world later that year), so to celebrate, the annual Digimon Festival, DigiFes, will be looking back at the series with the cast. A new visual has been released featuring the Digimon Tamers characters wearing marine-based costumes.
The character's marine-based costumes were inspired by the port town of Yokosuka, where the event will be held at the Yokosuka Arts Theater in Kanagawa on August 1. Alongside the Tamers cast, the voice actors for Daisuke, Veemon, Ken, and Wormmon from Digimon Adventure LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna.
Furthermore, the staff of the event is looking for people to submit videos of themselves singing the iconic Digimon Adventure opening theme song "Butter-fly." Every year the guests of the event sing the song in a show of unity for the long-running franchise, and this year the staff are looking for people to video in their renditions of the song. The staff is looking for people to sing the song in Japanese, with more information available on the Digimon Partners fansite.
