Golden Joystick Awards Announced, BTS World Becomes Mobile Game of The Year!

Yesterday, the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards was officially held in London. The 37th awards ceremony garnered 3.5 million public votes and the winner of the event has finally been announced.

For those of you who don’t know, the Golden Joystick Awards itself is a game award event that is held regularly every year.

For this year, the game made by Capcom, which was released last January, namely Resident Evil 2 Remake, successfully received high awards at this event. Not only one nomination, even this survival-horror genre game successfully won the ‘Best Audio’ nomination.

This makes the horror game from Capcom the only game that won more than one award in 2019.

There was something surprising about this year’s Golden Joystick Awards, where a game from a South Korean boy band, BTS, won the Mobile Game of The Year nomination. Even though this game is quite simple and recently released on the Mobile platform.

For those of you who don’t know, BTS World itself is a story-based simulation game that invites players to time travel to the past where BTS has not yet been formed. As Managers, the players must strive to achieve the main goal, which is to make BTS into superstars.

There are also 10,000 photos and 100 exclusive videos in the game and players can interact virtually with BTS as their Manager through 1:1 interactive content.
